Templemoyle Church, Lattonfasky 13th Century Parochial Church This probable 13th century parochial church, AKA Templemoyle is situated on the banks of Lough Egish. There are no historical records, but is is believed it may have been a chapel-of-ease to Aughnamullen parish church. The 20 metre long rectangular structure, sits in the northern part of an oval graveyard. There are no distinct features to see, all the dressed stone from the windows and south facing door have been completely robbed out.
The walls of the structure are almost complete, apart from small gaps in the north and south walls. pictured below is the east gable with a huge opening that may have featured a lancet window. This is a beautiful serene location, but I really cannot recommend a visit to church enthusiasts. |
